The S.S.P. is a composition of feed supplements designed to provide natural support to the calf, resulting in healthy and efficient digestion.

 

Sloten Acidmix

The combination of acidifiers provides a natural barrier against pathogens and improves protein digestion in the abomasum. This stabilises the pH in the calf’s stomach, which helps to avoid problems with the gastrointestinal tract (such as diarrhoea). At a pH value of 5 or higher (the red area) harmful pathogens may grow.

Villi Vital consists of two active components:
a conditionally essential amino acid:
 

• fuel for rapidly development of intestinal and immunological cells
• the building blocks for important proteins

and a fatty acid which:

• stimulates the production of pancreatic enzyme
• stimulates villus growth (+30%!)
• has an anti-bacterial function

Micro-encapsulated fat

Reducing and encapsulating fat particles is what makes the Sloten production process unique.
The fat particles are reduced to one thousandth of their original format through homogenisation.
The result is micro-encapsulated fat, which facilitates optimal digestion in the calf’s intestinal tract.

Probiotics

Probiotics are living, desirable, bacteria – found especially in the small intestine.

They:

• protect against undesirable bacteria in the intestinal flora
• protect against undesirable bacteria from the epithelium cells*
• strengthen immunity
• support the enzyme system

Their effect:

• healthier intestinal flora
• increased growth
• improved digestion
• stronger calves

* epithelium cell: cell in the epithelium, the tissue that covers organs and other tissues. E.g. the layer of the lining of the bronchial tubes and intestines consist of epithelium cells.



Immuno Active+

Immuno Active+ in Sprayfo enhances the active immunity of calves. Its function is well illustrated in the graph below. Improved hygiene means it is even more effective, while the pressure of infection decreases.
A combination of thorough hygiene and extra support by Immuno Active+ provides calves with the immunity they need for optimal growth.






Prebiotics

Prebiotics feed desirable bacteria, mainly in the large intestine.

How prebiotics work:

• bifido bacteria convert them into lactic acid in the large intestine
• they lowers the pH-level in the large intestine
• they have an anti-bacterial effect
• they improve mineral absorption
